On the 4th September 2011 the Bowmen of Danesfield at Williton hosted the Somerset County Interclub tournament.
This was attended by over one hundred archers from clubs across Somerset.
The Lady Paramount for the day was Rachel Fenwick from Wellington Bowmen; Rachel shot at the Olympics for Great Britain in 1976, a bronze medal for the Berlin World Championships and is also the Guinness book holder for breaking FITA records.
She is also one of the co-founders of Wellington Bowmen.
Her escort for the day was Phillip Van Buren, he has shot for Great Britain four times and UK champion five times. Phillip is also the President of Gordano valley Archers at Gordano. Phillip currently lives in Brighton.
Juniors’ and seniors shot along side of each other, and all commented on a great day.
Bowmen of Danesfield will host the Somerset Interclub again next year.

Hi Doug,
I've just arrived home, after a fantastic day
out, at the SCAA Inter-Club Tournament. It was my first tournament, and I
hope, one of many to come!
Everyone I met today was very friendly
and helpful, and it was a most enjoyable (and also enlightening) experience
!
Thank you very much for organising this event, and
please accept my congratulations on its success.
Would you please also pass on my sincere thanks
and kindest regards to your friends and fellow members of The Bowmen of
Danesfield, for hosting the event. Their hospitality and hard work are truly
appreciated.
With thanks and kind regards,
Keith

Hi Doug,
I'm sending this to
both your emails to make sure you get it.
Thank you for
organising today's shoot & please pass on our thanks to all your Club's
members who supported you in today's 'operation.'
We know it takes a
lot of of work to arrange the day in advance &, of course, to set out the
bosses, provide the refreshments, etc., etc. on the day, so we very much
appreciate all your efforts.

HI Doug,
Just a quick note to say a big thank you to you, and all your fellow Bowmen who put
so much effort into making Sunday such a success.
All your effort did not go unnoticed and there were many positive comments on the
shooting line about the venue.
The field was very professionally set out and the hospitality was great. All the hot food and drinks were a great addition to the day.
Please pass on my thanks to all who made the day happen.
Best Wishes
