The Bowmen Of Danesfields Dunster Tassel Shoot
Weather permitting the Bowmen of Danesfield entertain visitors from other clubs around the country by putting on a tassel shoot during Dunster Week. You would think that they would all have had enough of archery wouldn’t you? But no they flock to Williton to enjoy a fun shoot and barbeque. The invited guests shot well as did some of our club members although we all found that holding a burger, freshly cooked by Jen or Jo, whilst drinking cider, courtesy of our club mascot Little George, made the task of shooting a little difficult. After a problem start when visitors apparently had trouble standing on the line marked with numbers and shooting at a target with a matching number difficult, and for some impossible, we shot the required round. Much adding up later and dividing the scores by the number of arrows gave us all a tassel appropriate to our shooting ability of that night. What a good night, and comments on the night were that they all want to come again next year!

Dunster Horn Letter 5/8/9
My name is Roger Avery and at the recent Dunster Horn it was my pleasure to be shooting with a lady by the name of Debbie, her daughter Crystal, a couple called Alan and Pauline and two lads Jaimie and Prosper, all from your club (I am a member of the WSCA).
I had a great time due in no small measure to these people who were extremely friendly and I think we all helped each other through a very enjoyable day down at Timberscombe.
In between shooting I took some photos, just snaps, of what was going on around me and I attach a number to this email.
Now I don't imagine for a moment you will want all or even any of them in your archive as the quality isn't great but I wondered if you could at least make them accessible to anyone that you recognise. In the event that people would like to have any of them printed please tell them to feel free to do so and if you do want to add some of them to your site please do.
Lastly if you talk to the people I have mentioned, please thank them again for their company.
Roger Avery
Editiors Note: Firstly I would like to thank Roger personally for taking the time to write such a lovely letter, I have placed the photos in our media library and have sent a copy of your kind email to the club members you mentioned.
Good Shooting and Thanks Again

A Great Start To The Year

We sent a team of archers ,senior and junior, to the Grand Western Archery Society Indoor Championships in February 2008 and came home triumphant. It was a rewarding day as the junior squad brought home some medals and a senior lady achieved a gold medal.
